Boston Whaler started in 1958 and Dick Fisher founded the company. This man started out trying to build sailfish boats, but instead helped to engineer one of the strongest boats the industry had ever seen. He switched to motor powered boats and first built the original Boston Whaler 13. Fisher was so confident in his engineering of the boat that he took a crosscut saw and cut the vessel in half.
