Lund Boats 5.3 Tyee Boat Cover 5.3 Tyee (1988 - 1990) Shoretex Custom Boat Cover

I am satisfied with a fitted cover for a boat that is 26 years old. It fit the boat dimensions quite well and will serve its purpose for years to come. It gets a four because there are a couple of things that could have been done to completely satisfy this perfectionist! I purchased a silver Prism cover (portside kicker) with straps and vented pole kit for a 1988 Lund Tyee 5.3. The cover fit well and was reinforced at the bow, rear corners and windshield. My opinion is that it could use reinforcing along the beam of the boat (extending the windshield reinforcing down to the edge would serve the purpose), but time will tell. Since there was no picture of how the ratcheting rope strap connected, I was skeptical. I have one of the rope straps in the garage that is identical, and now see that it would have been nice to have had it on there from the factory. There are adequate straps to hold the cover in place for trailering. For my Lund, the pole kit is a must if it is going to shed water correctly. There is just too much sag and if the cover is not strapped tight, the water may not make it to the splash well, and end up in the boat or in a big puddle. The motor covers for the main motor and kicker are HUGE and did not come with extra straps to hold them down, only the drawstring at the bottom. A couple of bungees will work if I ever need to cover the motors.
